A tailored suit is something every man should own if he works in a professional environment. A proper fit, shape, clean lines, and structure are essential to suits. They give the impression that the man wearing it is a hard worker and is organized.
Consider suit colors as well. A smart idea is to stick to basic colors. Medium to dark shades of blue are good color choices. Gray, tan, brown, and black also are appropriate colors. Colors that are too bold are not suitable for work. If you wear an orange, purple, or red suit to work, chances are people are not going to take you seriously.
Considering the pattern on suits is also very important. One fashionable and nice pattern is pinstripes. They make men look stylish and put together. Texture looks very nice on a suit too as long as it is of a subtle tone. Loud patterns should always be avoided. Color blocks and polka dots are never the right pattern choice for work.
You must also take into account which shoes to wear. You would never wear flip flops to work. This rule also applies to causal shoes like sneakers and sports shoes like tennis shoes. A nice loafer is always in style. After all, wearing a brown boot does not exactly say to employers 'promote me.'
Accessories must be chosen wisely as well. The majority of men wear a watch when at work. Not appropriate for work is a men's sport watch. Watches that are of bright colors or that feature cartoon characters are not right for work, no matter how much you like them or how cute they are.
Try classic time pieces instead that are sophisticated. A leather watch will always look good with a suit and it's simple. They can be worn casually and professionally and therefore are a good investment. Never over-accessorize, being simple is important.
If you can adhere to these simple tips, you can be fashionable and appropriate at work. You won't have to rely on others to help dress you. You can even have better style than your boss.
