Do People Go Camping In The Winter?
With our summer actually proving some half-decent weather the UK saw a huge rise in the people turning to camping as well as caravanning to keep the holiday costs at a bare minimum. According to Camping and Caravanning Club their advance bookings have already rocketed by a huge increase of 27% so far this year. Amazing some families are also carrying on their camping holidays into the winter!
Do not talk yourself into thinking taking a camping holiday is easy. Many people are choosing to go camping this year instead of going to places like Spain and America as it seems to be cheaper. Of course it is sometimes not cheap to do this as you have to buy all the gear necessary to actually camp in the first place. When going camping for the first time the priority is safety.
Going camping for the very first time is not easy and there are a few things you need to know first.
It is important that you take a first aid kit with you as well as insect repellant, and any allergy tablets you may need. As well as this check to see that your caravan is parked safely or your tent is pitched in a safe position. It is also best to keep away from rivers and tall trees as they can attract lightening. As well as this try to keep away from other campers as if a fire starts you do not end up taking someone else’s tent along with yours.
Do of course make sure that your trip is planned, that you certainly do no light gas near the caravan or tent as in 60 seconds you could say goodbye to your tent for good. Remember to invest in quality warm outdoor clothing from brands such as Fat Face and Nothern Face etc, I personal prefer Fat Face clothing and would recommend purchasing some Fat Face Hoodies before you depart.
To avoid the troubles of paying out for something stolen or lost take out gadget insurance so you can easily claim the gadget back if something bad does happen. If it is home you are sticking to this year then make sure you home insurance covers everything, it is important to note that pest infestations are usually not covered to it may be worth taking out home emergency Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 insurance as well.
It's my husbands birthday in 5 days and I need gift ideas!?
He likes fishing, camping, gadgets,.......man stuff
Nothing too pricey because we're saving for something big. No romantic options as we are 5000 miles from home and don't have a babysitter.
I suck at this, please help!
"pricey" is relative! How much do you want to spend?
For my last big birthday (ended with a "0") my wife bought me a 30 minute helicopter flying lesson - cost was about 150 pounds (about 240 dollars)
If you need something cheaper then....
a man can never have too many socks ![]()
or so I am told by my kids every birthday and christmas
Innovative Ray Solar Charger Juices Up Your iPod, iPhone or Other Gadget Using Sun Power (Inhabitat)
Sunlight = free, electricity = not free, so doesn't it seem like a no-brainer
to charge up your gadgets and small electronics using a solar charging device?
That's exactly the thinking behind the Ray, which uses the sun's rays to juice
up iPhones, iPads, iPods, most cameras, and a plethora of non-apple cell
