4 Beverages That Sabotage Your Diet
People are always talking about foods that burn fat and how you need to eat certain foods to lose weight. Let's talk about the other side of the coin: Beverages. These drinks are responsible for as much weight gain if not more than alot of foods.
1. Alcohol
Alcohol actually suppresses fat burning.
When you drink alcohol, your liver has to detoxify it right off the bat.
The liver deals with the alcohol first before working on carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Fat is the hardest to process and break up so therefore your liver does this last.
People often eat while they drink alcohol so they tend to add a bunch of unecessary calories which... turn to fat. Fat with nine calories per gram is followed by alcohol with seven calories per gram when it comes to those with the highest calorie content.
When alcohol is in your system, your body will convert more of the foods you eat into fat.
2. Soda
Pop is a major contributor to obesity in this country.
According to research, those who drink soda are most likely to have diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, tooth decay, caffeine dependency, and nutritional deficiencies.
Studies also show that people who drink sodas do not cut back on the regular foods they eat.
This increases their calorie intake by 200 in a day or 1,400 in a week.
The components of soda are:
Phosphoric Acid: Mixes with the hydrochloric acid of the stomach and interferes with digestion.
It's also known to take minerals out of the bones.
Refined Sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup: Sugar in liquid form is absorbed fast by the body putting the your health at risk.
When insulin levels spike, fat burning ability plummets. This leads to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, premature aging, heart disease, and, of course, weight gain.
A good holistic weight loss and diet plan will help you to find healthy, natural alternatives to sugar and HFCS.
3. Tap Water: Contains various chemicals, such as chlorine, trihalomethanes, lead, and cadmium, which are very detrimental to your health.
4. Diet Pop, Diet Drinks
Diet drinks give you all of the dandy benefits of drinking pop, plus artificial sweeteners that have been shown to alter brain chemistry, increase cravings, and cause cancer.
Aspartame is a common artificial sweetener.

Knowing that it has so many side effects that will endanger your health should be enough to make you avoid it.

Drinking a diet soda can be harmful for your health and in the end will sabotage your weight loss efforts.
