A wine storage unit built to look like a piece of art? That totally beats my
old system!
Sure, I got a lot of attention by using Velcro to stick wine bottles to
Chagall paintings, but it just wasn’t practical. I mean, first of all, it was
expensive, because if you want to be known as the kind of guy who hangs
bottles from paintings, you’ve got to get originals; I certainly wouldn’t want
to apologize to all of my dinner party guests if someone with a good eye were
to see I was using a replica. Second, the Velcro was always coming loose and
wine bottles were always smashing on the floor, staining the Gauguin paintings
that I used as a rug.
